Jane Starr Weils grew up in New Hampshire, USA, and as a child she was always drawn to the enchantment of the woods. There she explored the magical world of nature and sought out those elusive things that always seemed to be just out of the corner of her eye. Her artwork reflects this love and wonder of nature and is also inspired by magick, myths, legends, faerie lore, and, of course, knights in shining armor.She is fascinated by the color of light and the way it moves and wraps around all things. This is reflected in every painting as she tries to capture it with a palette of mixed mediums.You will often find Celtic knotwork designs and other rich patterns woven into her paintings along with symbolism and bits of whimsical surprises.Jane lived out west for many years, residing in Jerome, Arizona (USA) and the enchanting Silver City in New Mexico. She has now made her home in picturesque upstate New York, living in a quaint cottage-sized farmhouse by a beautiful river, surrounded by woods and mountains.She is an avid gardener, growing everything from fruit trees to medicinal herbs. She has a pottery studio where she sculpts in porcelain and also a pigeon coop with a number of colorful birds. She is usually accompanied by her beloved cats.Jane’s work can be found in publications, on book and CD covers, and is also available on a wide variety of licensed products.
