Isabel Hayes
Born in Guatemala City and raised in Madrid and Los Angeles, Isabel is now based in San Francisco. Mostly a self-taught painter and illustrator, Isabel’s subjects emerge entirely from her imagination. Her work is spontaneous and intuitive, giving her subjects captivating and enigmatic faces that invite the viewer to imagine a narrative. Her mediums are acrylic and oil paints on canvas and wood panels.
Isabel’s intense colors in her paintings pay homage to her various homeland countries (Guatemala, Spain, and the United States). Her work has been selected for several juried exhibitions and has been exhibited in New York and London. Tarot of H’Arts is Isabel’s first tarot project, although in 2020 she was a contributing artist to Pride Tarot: A Collaborative Deck. Welcome to my world!
Inspired by the vibrant colors and visual richness of my childhood in Madrid and Guatemala, I use color to express mood and emotion.
I am a figurative painter whose subjects emerge entirely from my imagination. My work is totally spontaneous and intuitive and I give my subjects enigmatic faces inviting the viewer to imagine a narrative.
My preferred mediums are oil and acrylic paints on canvas, panels, and wooden boards. The method involves applying multiple layers of paint.
In addition to painting, I have taken life sculpture classes and immediately fell in love with it. I enjoy playing and watching the clay come to life.
After four years of total devotion to my tarot project, I finished painting and writing the guidebook for Tarot of H’Arts, which will be published by U.S. Games Systems, Inc., and released in July 2024. Please stay tuned!
