Amy Brown has always been interested in faeries but had never considered them as a career option! Just shy of 21, she wasn’t thinking much about her career and was content working in a small art shop. One day, her boss asked her to paint something to fill an empty frame that was lying around the shop. When Amy asked what she should paint, her boss said, “I don’t know, paint a fairy or something.” So, she did.Three days later, the piece sold, so she decided to paint another. It sold quickly as well. Amy started painting faeries whenever she had spare time, and her boss kindly gave her a section in the shop to display them. From then on, everything evolved as if the faeries willed it so. Amy found herself increasingly drawn to painting them. After a few years, she was able to become a full-time artist. Nearly thirty years later, she’s still painting faeries and their elemental friends – mermaids, dragons, and more!Perhaps the old tales of faeries capturing humans and keeping them forever are true. Amy's goal has always been to capture a moment and offer it to the viewer in her paintings. They can then weave their own story.
