Alessio Cavatore, born on February 14, 1972, in Turin, Italy, is a renowned game designer. In 1995, he moved to Nottingham, UK, to work for Games Workshop, where he wrote several supplements for Warhammer Fantasy Battle and led the Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Game. In 2004, he became responsible for all rules material for Warhammer, Warhammer 40,000, and The Lord of the Rings, and in 2006, he wrote the rules for a new edition of Warhammer.Cavatore worked closely with Rick Priestley on Games Workshop's tabletop wargames and designed Mordheim (1999) and Kings of War (2009). He had a cameo in The Return of the King film as Rohirrim at the Battle of the Pelennor Fields.In 2010, he founded River Horse to publish his own games and collaborate with other well-known publishers in the gaming industry. He has designed or co-designed many miniatures wargames and board games, including Deus Vult, Shuuro, Loka, and Terminator Genisys.
