About the Artist
Catrin Welz-Stein is a German-born artist who has lived in Korea and Malaysia, bringing a subtle Asian influence to her work. With a background in graphic design and experience in advertising agencies across Germany, the USA, and Switzerland, Catrin eventually turned to creating art that expresses her full creativity. Her digital images are inspired by fantasy, children's stories, medieval art, Jugendstil, folklore, and surrealism. Catrin's work combines old images and illustrations in Photoshop, resulting in dreamlike, surreal compositions that speak to inner feelings often hidden in daily life.
