About the Author
Christian Gronau has a fondness for "all animals and some people". After studying geology, he left Germany for less traveled parts of the world. Together with Aileen Douglas, who left her native Scotland for similar reasons, he settled on a small island off the coast of British Columbia. Twenty years of living in nature have enhanced their sensitivity to the many non-human life forms, a sensitivity that is rare in today's industrialized world.
